Job Description
We’re launching a new primary care program to serve members without a PCP—starting with hands-on, one-on-one virtual care and scaling a model that reimagines how compassionate, high-quality primary care is delivered. This is a rare opportunity to shape the future of care while leading with heart, humility, and impact.
Required skills and experience:
A board-certified Primary Care Physician with at least three years of clinical experience. Must have an active medical license in at least one U.S. state. We will support licensure in additional states as needed.
Experience supervising Nurse Practitioners or other healthcare professionals. Prior experience running a clinic or a clinical program is highly desired.
Desired skills and experience:
Proven ability to manage change and drive innovation in a dynamic healthcare environment.
Experience with virtual primary care is a plus but not required.
Experience serving diverse patient populations, with a focus on delivering care that aligns with our mission. You believe deeply in measuring and improving the quality of primary care delivery across a population.
A bit about this role:
Devoted Medical is the affiliated multi-disciplinary virtual care delivery partner of Devoted Health. We are seeking a Primary Care Physician to help us continue to scale our work. This position works with a multi-disciplinary team to ensure high quality primary care is delivered to our members. The role includes supervising Nurse Practitioners, and driving the growth and development of our primary care programs. Our patients are well supported by industry- leading technology, clinical and community outreach professionals and a highly impactful suite of virtual Devoted Medical clinical programs. These include virtual urgent care, complex care, chronic disease management and behavioral health. Our mission is to treat every member like family.
Responsibilities and Impact will include:
Clinical Leadership: Deliver primary care to patients, ensuring therapeutic optimization and effective, patient-centered care. Provide supervision and guidance to Nurse Practitioners, fostering a collaborative and supportive clinical environment. We expect that your clinical FTE will be at least 50% of your overall time, subject to change as the clinic scales and evolves over time.
Program Oversight & Development: Serve as the key subject matter expert in building out our Primary Care model. Identify trends and opportunities to improve patient experiences and clinical outcomes. Develop and monitor program performance using KPIs such as patient satisfaction, quality metrics, and access to care. Take ownership over the primary care program’s growth and success. We expect that this role will evolve continuously as the primary care program scales.
Change Management & Innovation: Thrive in an entrepreneurial environment with a high capacity for change management and agility. Drive innovation and process improvements to enhance the delivery of primary care services.
Virtual Care Experience: Experience with virtual primary care is a plus, but not essential. However, the ability to adapt to and lead in a dynamic, technology-driven healthcare environment is crucial.
Champion a patient-centered and open clinical culture, fostering trust and empowerment within the team.
Advocate for primary care equity and accessibility within the organization and community.
Provide feedback to improve clinical tools and systems.
Attributes to success:
Servant Leadership: Recognize that everyone's success is your success. Enable your team to be empowered to do their best work possible and trust your guidance and assistance.
Clinical Excellence: Strong background in primary care with a passion for delivering high-quality patient care.
Growth Potential: Demonstrate extraordinarily high growth potential, with the ability to grow into a leadership role within the program.
Adaptability & Agility: Wired for learning and change, comfortable working in a fast-paced, high-energy environment.
Passion for Improvement: Passionate about making healthcare better, solving complex problems, and supporting the delivery of healthcare that we would want for our own family members.
Salary: $228,000 - $292,000
