About the Role
The Pre-Licensed Therapist will be responsible for working closely and effectively with a multidisciplinary care team - including nutrition, medical, psychiatry, and mentorship to deliver evidence-based modalities including FBT, CBT-AR, and CBT-E. You will deliver evidence-based treatment with quality documentation through your ongoing assessment of patient and family needs. Equip’s Pre-Licensed Therapists must obtain and maintain an active pre-licensure status in Massachusetts and other required states per business need and, with financial support from Equip, pursue additional state licensures as needed.
Working Hours
Equip allows Patient Scheduling, Monday - Friday, between 8am-8pm in the Patient's timezone.
Ability to provide 30 hours a week of availability for direct patient care, including groups, new patients, and follow-up sessions.
Ability to commit to a minimum of 16 hours of direct patient care after 2 pm in your patient population's time zone throughout the week.
Ability to commit to working until 8 pm two evenings per week.
Ability to attend mandatory meetings (i.e Group Supervision, Treatment Huddles, Labs/All Hands, Individual Supervision, etc.).
Responsibilities
Obtain and maintain pre-licensure status in required states per business need, and are willing to obtain licensure in other states as requested by Equip (licensure costs will be covered by Equip).
Provide evidence-based family, individual, and group therapy for eating disorders and comorbid diagnoses in a virtual clinic (i.e. telehealth) setting.
Implement family-based treatment (FBT), enhanced cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT-E), cognitive behavioral therapy for ARFID (CBT-AR), and other evidence-based treatments for patients across the lifespan with eating disorders and their loved ones.
Maintain a patient caseload as assigned to assess, diagnose, and treat mental health conditions.
Participate in continuous training, supervision, department meetings, and other administrative tasks as required.
Collaborate with a multidisciplinary treatment team of medical providers, dietitians, patient mentors, and family mentors, along with outside providers.
Utilize between-session messaging to support patients and communicate with the treatment team through Equip’s EMR in accordance with Equip’s policies and procedures.
Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
Must Haves
Completion of Master’s degree or doctoral degree program in mental health field and be associate license-eligible or in process of obtaining associate license in Massachusetts (marriage and family therapy, social work, professional counseling, psychology, etc.).
Willingness to support, with supervision, a caseload of patients of all ages, co-occurring conditions, backgrounds and cultures, and with varying degrees of acuity.
Passion for evidence-based care and treatment.
Enthusiastic, strong team player.
Ability to safely and effectively deliver care in a virtual setting.
Passion for mental health and eating disorder treatment and expanding access to treatment.
Compensation & Benefits Package
Compensation:
Earning Potential Range: $65,000 to $75,000 Annually
Consists of Base Pay + 15% Performance-Based Bonus Potential

Student Loan Repayment:
$500/quarter for employees under a year of tenure.

Continuing Education:
Robust training in evidence-based treatments for eating disorders, including Family-Based Treatment, Enhanced Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, and Cognitive Behavioral Therapy for ARFID. Comparable training workshops and supervision in these modalities are valued over $3,000.

Licensing & Supervision:
Equip reimburses/covers fees associated with initial licensure and license renewals (e.g., exam fees, application to the state board, exam study materials, etc.) for any Equip-required licenses and/or cross-licensure requests.
Equip will provide a qualified supervisor to facilitate your clinical hours. These sessions are integrated into your standard work schedule, ensuring your path to independent licensure is both fully funded and time-efficient.
Work From Home Additional Perks:
$50/month stipend added directly to an employee’s paycheck to cover home internet expenses.
Initial work-from-home stipend of up to $500.
Reload of $200 on the home office stipend at the 3-year mark and then every other year after that (year 5, year 7, etc.).

Physical Demands
Work is performed 100% from home with no requirement to travel. This is a stationary position that requires the ability to operate standard office equipment and keyboards as well as to talk or hear by telephone. Sit or stand as needed.
