This is a senior physician leadership role focused on advancing clinical excellence through education, training, and hands-on practice within a value-based primary care environment. You will serve as a key clinical educator, shaping how providers deliver high-quality, senior-focused care across multiple markets. The role blends active clinical practice with large-scale educational leadership, ensuring alignment between real-world care delivery and evidence-based standards. You will design and deliver impactful training programs, lead clinical learning initiatives, and support provider performance improvement. Acting as a trusted medical leader, you will influence clinical behaviors, support onboarding and continuous development, and strengthen a culture of teaching and collaboration. This is a highly visible role with national impact, combining strategic leadership with direct clinical engagement.
Accountabilities:- Lead market-based clinical education initiatives, delivering training on value-based care, population health, senior care models, and clinical workflows across multiple regions.
- Design and execute onboarding and continuous education programs for physicians and advanced practice providers, both in-person and virtually.
- Partner with market leadership to identify performance gaps and implement targeted education and clinical improvement interventions using data-driven insights.
- Maintain active clinical practice to ensure ongoing clinical credibility and integrate real-world insights into educational content and strategies.
- Lead enterprise clinical education programs, including Grand Rounds and clinician development committees, ensuring alignment with evidence-based standards.
- Develop and support clinical guidelines, care pathways, and best practice frameworks to improve quality and consistency of care delivery.
- Provide leadership and mentorship to clinical educators and advanced practice provider educators, fostering a strong teaching culture.
- Represent clinical education in cross-functional committees, academic partnerships, and organizational initiatives.
Requirements:
- MD or DO degree with board certification in Family Medicine, Internal Medicine, or Geriatric Medicine.
- Active medical license with eligibility to obtain additional state licensure as required.
- Minimum of 10 years of clinical experience, preferably in value-based primary care settings.
- Proven experience in physician and APP education, mentoring, and clinical training delivery.
- Strong background in quality improvement, performance improvement, and healthcare transformation initiatives.
- Experience in medical leadership roles and collaboration within multidisciplinary teams.
- Knowledge of Medicare Advantage, clinical coding, documentation standards, and utilization management.
- Strong communication, leadership, and stakeholder engagement skills with the ability to influence across all levels.
- Comfort with EMR systems and ability to integrate technology into clinical education.
- Willingness to travel approximately 30% to support market-based activities.
- Preferred: experience in academic medicine, residency programs, CME teaching, APP mentorship, and Athena EMR.
