This role is responsible for the full billing cycle — from accurate code assignment and claim submission through payment posting, denial resolution, and collections — with a focus on clean claims, timely reimbursement, and compliance.</p><h3><strong>What You’ll Do</strong></h3><ul><li>Billing, Coding & Claims</li><ul><li>Review clinical documentation and assign accurate diagnosis and procedure codes in accordance with payer guidelines and coding regulations (ICD-10, CPT, HCPCS).</li><li>Process and submit insurance claims, ensuring coding accuracy and compliance with payer-specific requirements.</li><li>Verify claim accuracy prior to submission and resolve billing discrepancies proactively.</li></ul><li>Collections & A/R Follow-Up</li><ul><li>Investigate and follow up on unpaid balances, underpayments, and outstanding claims.</li><li>Work directly with insurance carriers to resolve reimbursement issues and recover collectible dollars.</li><li>Track, submit, and follow up on appeals and reconsiderations through resolution.</li></ul><li>Payment Posting & Account Maintenance</li><ul><li>Accurately post insurance and patient payments to accounts.</li><li>Maintain clear, concise, and timely notations of all account activity.</li><li>Maintain accurate patient billing records and documentation in the practice management system.</li></ul><li>Compliance & Collaboration</li><ul><li>Stay current on coding updates, payer policy changes, and industry regulations.</li><li>Collaborate with providers and administrative staff to support efficient, compliant billing operations.</li><li>Assist with internal audits and implement best practices to improve billing accuracy and clean claim rates.</li><li>Adhere to established procedures, protocols, and HIPAA requirements; escalate complex issues to supervisor as appropriate.</li></ul><li>Complete additional tasks as assigned.</li></ul><h3><strong>What You Bring</strong></h3><ul><li>3+ years of experience in medical billing and coding within a healthcare setting.</li><li>Experience in Sleep Medicine and/or DME billing strongly preferred.</li><li>Strong understanding of medical coding standards (ICD-10, CPT, HCPCS), billing workflows, and insurance claim processes.</li><li>Professional coding certification (CPC, CCS, RHIT, or RHIA) is a plus.</li><li>Experience working with private medical practices or outpatient clinics preferred.</li><li>Exceptional attention to detail, accuracy, and organizational skills.</li><li>Strong critical thinking and problem-solving ability, with capacity to work through complex claim and reimbursement issues.</li><li>Excellent written and verbal communication skills.</li><li>Ability to work independently and manage priorities in a remote environment.</li><li>Genuine interest in sleep, health, and helping people better understand and improve their well-being.</li></ul><h2><span style="font-size: 12pt;"><strong>Our Core Values</strong></span></h2><p>At Sunrise Group, we keep things clear and simple ✨, value trust and collaboration 🤝, and lead with optimism and compassion 🌞.
